The Downie Stewart Foundation.
The Downie Stewart Foundation operates Moana House, a residential therapeutic community for adult male offenders with drug and alcohol addictions who want to change their lives.
Moana House operates from a central Dunedin location and currently can cater for up to 19 people at a time.
The therapeutic community has a strong bicultural focus, and staff have a special responsibility to help residents individually and as a group, and the Foundation as a whole, to grow and develop.
Downie Stewart was instrumental in establishing the Foundation and has had a continued representation on its Board since its inception in 1984.
