Liam Johnston.
Liam joined Downie Stewart in September 2023. Prior to this he worked at another Dunedin law firm, starting in November 2019 as a law clerk and being admitted to the bar in June 2021. With a passion for litigation from the outset, Liam has represented clients in the Family Court, Employment Court, District Court, and High Court.
Driven by his knack for English and a natural inclination for argumentation, Liam found his calling in law during his final years of high school. He appreciates the balance between the resources of a larger firm and the personalised attention of a smaller business environment, which Downie Stewart provides. Specialising in litigation, particularly in family and employment law, Liam brings valuable experience and dedication to his practice.
Outside of work, Liam enjoys indulging his culinary interests, whether cooking on the BBQ, experimenting in the kitchen, or savouring delicious meals prepared by others. He also recently bought a mirrorless camera to capture his travels with his fiancé, especially wildlife encounters.
Liam's dedication to his clients, coupled with his passion for litigation, greatly enriches our firm.
