Notary Services.

We also offer the services of a Notary Public through one of our partners, Paul Hubbard.  Paul is also a registered member of the New Zealand Society of Notaries.

A Notary Public is a lawyer authorised by the Archbishop of Canterbury in England to officially witness signatures on legal documents, collect sworn statements, administer oaths and certify the authenticity of legal documents for use overseas. Notaries use a seal to verify the present time the documents were signed.

Notary appointments can be made by calling our Reception and at that time you should also give a brief indication of the number of documents that are required to be notarised and the nature of them. When attending your appointment, it is important that you bring with you not only the documents to be verified or signed but also your passport or driver’s licence to verify your identity.

“We've used Downie Stewart a number of times in the past few months to deal with a variety of matters in our farming business. In every instance Paul Hubbard has been prompt, professional and extremely knowledgeable. He made the process very easy and was able to clearly explain even the most complex legal terms. We highly recommend Paul and the team at Downie Stewart. ”
